Our Attorneys - Doug Gruenke
Doug Gruenke received his bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, where he served as a Student Senator. Three years later, he graduated with his juris doctor (J.D.) from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He is licensed to practice law in the Illinois state courts (2002), the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois (2002), and in the Missouri state courts (2004).
Mr. Gruenke has worked as an attorney at Belsheim & Bruckert since 2002, and was employed as a law clerk prior to that. Mr. Gruenke currently focuses his practice on municipal law, labor and employment law, real estate, small business law, general litigation, and bankruptcy. He currently serves as the City Attorney for Trenton, Illinois, the Village Attorney for New Baden, Illinois, and the Zoning Hearing Officer for O’Fallon, Illinois.
Mr. Gruenke is a member of the Illinois Municipal League, Illinois Institute for Local Government Law, Illinois State Bar Association, Clinton County Bar Association, and St. Clair County Bar Association. He was also the Republican Candidate for Illinois Circuit Judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit – Clinton County in 2010.
Mr. Gruenke is also actively involved in his church, First Baptist Church O’Fallon. He currently serves as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher, and has served as the Chairman of the Finance Committee. He also enjoys helping lead the church’s Upward youth sports program by serving as the Flag Football Coach Commissioner, the Basketball Director and as a coach.
